Investigation into the death of a man at Hidden Lakes Campground in Morrow County has officially been closed, following an autopsy, performed at the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.
The coroner’s report stated that Ricky McClure, 25, died of hypothermia as a result of prolonged exposure after a 2015 New Year’s Eve party.
Initially, the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office was called to Hidden Lakes on Jan. 2, after receiving a call stating there was a dead body at the campground.
According to a filed report at Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, McClure was found deceased along the brush line near the campground’s lake.
On McClure’s person at the time of death were two pocket knives and a pill bottle containing marijuana among other personal items.
Additionally, the Franklin County Coroner’s report confirmed that McClure was heavily intoxicated at the time of death with a blood alcohol content twice over the legal limit.
The MCCSO report went on to say that the case was closed due to lack of evidence indicating a crime.
