Mount Gilead Police assisted with the Morrow County Emergency Squad with a combative male patient who had overdosed on Marion Road.

April 9- Theft

A customer at the Duke Gas Station in Mount Gilead exchanged a broken cigarette machine for a new one despite managements instructions not to. He was contacted by a dispatched officer to return the working machine to the store or he would be charged. The subject complied with police request but was banned from the store.

April 9- Complaint

A West High Street resident reported that his son had purchased three phones on Facebook for $200. Upon trying to activate the products at Verizon, the caller’s son was notified one of the phones was stolen.

April 10- Driving under suspension

An officer on patrol cited a driver on West Marion Road for driving under suspension.

April 10- Animal complaint

Police were called to West High Street business after a person found a dog on the street. The dispatched officer was able to determine it was a missing dog and returned it to its owner.

April 10- Domestic complaint

A Walnut Street resident called to complain of a domestic dispute. The male subject was transported to the Morrow County Correctional Facility and charged on a probation violation.

April 11- Arrest on warrant

Mount Gilead Police arrested a subject on a misdemeanor warrant out of Richland County.

April 11- Theft

A West High Street resident notified police that the gasoline in her vehicle had been siphoned.

April 11- Neighbor complaint

Police were called to a South Rich Street residence after a resident called MGPD to report one of their neighbors had punched their house.

April 12- Assist other unit

An off-duty Cardington Police officer reported a reckless driver struck a guardrail and entered the Mount Gilead State Park. The driver passed field sobriety tests and was released to a third party after expressing he was experiencing medical issues.

April 15- Vandalism

An East Marion Street resident reported to police that his tires on his vehicle were slashed.

A North Cherry Street resident informed MGPD that her vehicle had been damaged.

Police were called to assist the Morrow Count Sheriff’s Office with a suspected suicide.

April 15- Narcotics complaint

During a drug sweep at Mount Gilead High School police located narcotics in a student’s vehicle.

April 17- OVI

Police arrested a driver on West Marion Road for driving above the legal limit of .08 BAC.

A North Street resident contacted MGP to report his vehicle was damaged.

Mount Gilead Police investigated an incident at an East Cedar Street residence, where a vehicle had been keyed.

April 17- Burglary

Equipment was reportedly stolen at the West Marion Car Wash.

April 18- Theft

Family Dollar employees reported a shoplifting incident at the store.

April 18- Assault

An officer was dispatched to a Westview Drive residence to investigate an assault.

April 19- Assist other unit

Mount Gilead Police assisted Morrow Count Sheriffs with an arrest on a warrant out of Mount Gilead Mayor’s Court.

April 21- Lockout

An officer assisted a customer at Kroger who was locked out of her vehicle.

April 22- Injury accident

Two South Main Street drivers were involved in an accident.

April 24- Property damage

A West High Street resident in an apartment complex informed police that his apartment was being flooded by his neighbor. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the subject causing the issue to be highly intoxicated. She had turned on her kitchen faucet, which caused the sink to overflow.

April 24- OVI

Police arrested a West Marion Street driver on an outstanding warrant out of Marion County, after citing him for operating his vehicle while intoxicated.

April 25- Theft

A West Marion Road resident informed police that he had money stolen from him.

April 25- Domestic dispute

MGPD was called to a West Marion Street residence to investigate a domestic complaint. Upon officers arriving at the scene, the male subject fled. He was later apprehended and transported to the Morrow County Correctional Facility.

April 26- OVI

After a rollover accident at 4 a.m., police arrested a North Main Street driver for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, failure to control and endangering a child.

April 26- Domestic complaint

A caller reported a domestic disturbance on Grant Street. The officer called to scene cleared it without further incident.

April 27- Arrest on warrant

Mount Gilead Police arrested a Marion resident on an outstanding Mount Gilead Mayor’s Court warrant.

April 27- Vandalism

A customer at Dollar General had her car windows broken while in the store.

April 27- Theft

A South Delaware Street resident reported an online theft.
