Meeting for their regular meeting, members of Jenkins-Vaughan Auxiliary Unit 97 learned the unit has reached 78 percent of its membership goal for the year.

Members who have not paid and are in nursing home facilities will have their dues paid by the auxiliary.

Also discussed was the maintaining of the village flower barrels by voluntarily weeding them. They are seeking more information on the barrels.

The unit also agreed to purchase a new flag for the elementary school and to award a $500 scholarship again this year.

Flag chairman, Shirley Robinson, said she will order more flags and a discussion focused on the distribution of poppies in May. A schedule will be arranged for those wishing to work at the various spots in the village.

The unit will meet next on May 17, 2016
