The Morrow County Chamber of Commerce President, Don Wiggins welcomed Kristen Duryea as student of the month at the April chamber meeting.

Duryea is a junior at Northmor High School. She is currently tackling 18 hours of college classes through College Credit Placement (CCP), in addition to other course work at Northmor. She enjoys running and is very active in Northmor’s cross country and track programs.

Northmor High School Guidance Counselor, Mike Skelton said that Duryea possesses musical skills along with her academic and athletic abilities. She is a member of show choir and plays piano for her church and other community events. This summer she will serve as a lifeguard at Candlewood Lake.

Duryea’s goal is to serve in the medical field, possibly in nursing. She and her family are visiting colleges and exploring many options for her future. Kristen’s mother, Julia Duryea attended the meeting with her daughter.

Wiggins thanked Brad Ebersole of Consolidated Electric Cooperative for his company’s sponsorship of the student of the month award throughout the year.
