You may think about traveling to the Amish Country when you are in the mood to shop at a high quality antique store.
But did you know there is one right here in Morrow County?
Located on State Route 95, just outside of Edison, is Marsell’s Vintage & Antique Resale Shop.
The business started when Kris Moore and her aunt Lisa Marsell began hosting garage sales and setting up antique booths at various flea markets around the area.
Eventually, their collection of antiques grew large enough to build their own shop.
Owned by Jim and Lisa Marsell and managed by Moore, the antique shop opened in 2012.
After one year in business, the shop closed its doors to move operations to a larger building, one that the community could also get involved in.
“Within the next two years we are planning to have three buildings (to house thier inventory),” said Moore when asked about future expansion plans.
Marsell and Moore decided to open up shop in Morrow County because they felt it would be the perfect place for a high quality, yet inexpensive antique shop.
“I really enjoy the history of all the items that we sell,” Moore said. “Not just the book history but the personal history as well.”
What most people don’t realize is that Marsell’s offers more than just antiques.
Moore’s advice to those who want to start their own business is, “Just do it. Always have a plan B, but if you have a good feeling then just go for it.”
Marsell’s Vintage & Antique Resale Shop is open from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
