Two closely contested races in the March 15 primary are set to be recounted to ensure the accuracy of the results.
Kathleen Winters defeated Geraldine Park by a count of 43-42 in the race for the Harmony Twp. Democratic Central Committee. The count is considered to be official but due to the extremely close nature of the race the Morrow County Board of Elections has issued a recount.
Additionally, the Marengo Village tax levy that passed 38-36 is scheduled for a recount. The levy is set to raise 2.5 mils over five years.
According to the Morrow County Board of Elections, the contested counts are scheduled for completion on April 7.
