Free Health Care Enrollment Assistance available at Morrow County Health District

Ohio Heartland Community Action Commission– Although the open enrollment period for coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace for 2015 has ended many uninsured and/or underinsured Ohioans may still be able to enroll in a health insurance plan. Ohio Association of Foodbanks will be offering free health care enrollment assistance every Wednesday from 1:30 pm until 4:30 pm beginning July 8, 2015.

Individuals and families with limited incomes can enroll in coverage through Medicaid year-round. Medicaid now provides access to health care coverage for adults 18 to 64 with incomes below 138 percent of the federal poverty level (about $21,983 annually for a household of two). Navigators can help to screen households for potential Medicaid eligibility and assist with completing and submitting applications for coverage.

Ohioans that experience certain Qualifying Life Events can also enroll in health care insurance through the Marketplace during Special Enrollment Periods. Qualifying Life Events can include, but are not limited to, changes in family size (marriage, divorce, birth, death, etc.), changes in income, losing employer-provided health insurance and more.

Additionally, Navigators can assist with providing post-enrollment assistance. Did you enroll in a plan through the Marketplace, but now need to update your income information? Were you denied coverage and would like to consider filing a grievance or appeal? Navigators can help with your questions and concerns.

Consumers interested in making an appointment for the enrollment event can call 1-800-648-1176 or they can walk-in.

Consumers can also visit www.areyoucoveredohio.org or call 1-800-648-1176 to find answers to frequently asked questions, receive referrals to other events or locations and learn about how to apply on their own.
