A Galion sophomore was Lifeflighted to a Columbus hospital last week after an assault last week at a private residence.

The girl was reportedly assaulted by three teen girls and the incident was videotaped, where the assault was cheered on by bystanders.

Galion Police Chief Brian Saterfield confirmed that the incident was under investigation, but declined additional comment.

The report was made available Monday morning after a public records request by the Inquirer.

The victim reportedly has a torn liver, a torn spleen and cracked ribs.
