In a society where security is becoming more of a necessity than it is an added layer of protection, the Morrow County Clerk of Courts Office is taking a proactive approach towards keeping its employees safe at the workplace.

The office located on the first floor of Morrow County Common Pleas Court, is joining its judicial office mates by adding a layer of glass reminiscent of those installed for bank tellers.

“Courthouse security is becoming more of an issue all the time,” Morrow County Commissioner Dick Miller said. “It’s necessary expenditure and a safe step forward.”

“We have had some issues in the past,” Morrow County Clerk of Courts Vanessa Mills said. “We are going to nip the problem now before anything happens.”

The initiative will keep both office employees and court records safe says Mills. The glass has room for additions that could be added in the future.

The security measure was paid for by the Morrow County Commissioners’ general fund.
