Cardington residents Brittany and Richard Combs welcomed into the world their third daughter Hailey Emerson on Feb. 29.
Hailey was born at 7:39 a.m. at 6 lbs. 5 oz. and joins her sisters Hannah Lett and Hayden Combs.
The Comb’s new addition is part of a recurrent four year phenomen known as “leap day babies”. Leaplings, as they are sometimes reffered to, have a quadrennial thing in common. They must choose Feb. 28 or March 1 to celebrate their birthdays during a standard 365-day calendar year.
They can celebrate their “official” birthday every four years, meaning they age one-quarter as quickly as the rest of us.
