It’s that “sweet” time of the year when maple syrup is flowing and Erlsten Brothers Maple Products is offering extra hours for the public to visit at 7630 County Road 46, Mt Gilead.

Mark Erlsten said the business is expanding its usual business hours, on two Saturdays, March 5 and March 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The store offers supplies such as evaporators and filters, used equipment, maple syrup containers, labels and shipping materials and maple syrup.

Erlsten said there have been 2700 taps made on his trees thus far.

Erlsten recently attended Ohio Maple Days held at the Lutheran Memorial Camp, Fulton, where he shares information about his business.

Except for the aforementioned Saturdays, his business will be open regular hours, 9 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 – 11 a.m. on Saturdays throughout March.
