The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a one vehicle, fatal crash, which occured 1:42 a.m. this morning on County Road 20 near County Road 59.
According to reports, Gary D. Perkins, 56, of 8127 County Road 20 in Mansfield, OH, was operating a 2002 Ford F-350, northbound on County Road 20. Police said Perkins’ vehicle drove off the left side of the road, then overcorrected and overturned onto the roadway.
Perkins was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to the Franklin County Coroner’s Office, authorities said.
Johnsville and Iberia Fire Departments along with Morrow County EMS, were on scene. Morrow County Sheriff’s Deputies were on scene for assistance and traffic control.
The crash is still under investigation by the Mt. Gilead Highway Patrol Post.
