Earlier this year, a Utah-based private lender foreclosed on Butler-based Clear Fork Ski Resort after its borrower failed to service and repay a loan secured by the resort and equipment.
The new owners have made plans to re-purpose the property.
Clear Fork Ski Resort is now named Clear Fork Adventure Resort.
“We deliberately kept the “Clear Fork Resort” parts of the name to carry the connection to the valley, to evoke fond memories of traditions that generations of patrons hold dear, and to maintain continuity and familiarity,” Kellen Jones of the resort’s ownership entity explained, “We swapped “Ski” with “Adventure” because of the ambitious plan we have for the property over years to come.”
Plans for this winter includes weekend day and night tubing, novelty tubing attractions, and group rentals on tents and indoor event space at the base of the tubing runs.
A small cottage known as “The Birdhouse” has also been renovated and is immediately available for nightly rentals. The resort intends to make this the first of many accommodation options onsite, with plans to build a new campground and RV Park, and perhaps more permanent adventure cabins, beginning in Spring 2016. Along with these improvements, the resort will offer lodge rental, new restaurant, bar, and banquets options, venues and activities, and year-round attractions that will be announced as they are introduced.
Beyond these improvements, Clear Fork Adventure Resort has deliberate plans for several attractions and new uses for the lodge and property. Confidentiality will be maintained until each new addition comes online. The tubing operations will commence on the first possible Saturday in December 2015, weather permitting.
