The Elm Valley Joint Fire District Board is inviting the public to attend the dedication ceremony of the new Fire Station 310 on Saturday, June 27, 2015.

The new firehouse is located at 9821 US Route 42, Ashley. The dedication ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. and the open house will continue until 3:00 pm. Refreshments will be served and the public can tour the facility.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held April 22, 2014 to build a new structure to replace the facility at 3 North Harrison Street in Ashley. The land was purchased seven years previously, and a 30-year .97 mil levy passed in 2012 to service a $1.7 million USDA loan for the project.

The new 12,000 sq ft. building sits on three acres and features five bays that can house two vehicles each to allow for expansion in the future. Water and sewer for the facility comes from the Village of Ashley.

Elm Valley Joint Fire District serves Ashley, Oxford, Peru, and Westfield Townships.
