Morrow County Recorder Dixie Shinaberry would like to warn property owners of a scam regarding your homeowner’s deed.
The letter states that they can obtain a copy of your deed for you for a fee of $89.00. The letter is targeting those who have done recent transfers. It will contain the filing date of your deed and the parcel number.
The letter has a disclaimer which states “NOT ASSOCIATED WITH ANY GOVERNMENTAL AGENCY.”
You can obtain a copy of your deed at a charge of $2.00 per page at the Morrow County Recorder’s office, which is open 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
