Morrow County — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a one vehicle, fatal crash. The crash occurred at 3:15 A.M. Nov. 2, 2015 in Morrow County, on IR-71 near milepost 143.

Jeremy R. P. Cox, of Johnstown, Ohio, was operating a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, southbound on IR-7i. Mr. Cox’s vehicle drove off the left side of the road and struck a guardrail. Mr. Cox’s vehicle then returned to the roadway and drove off the right side of the road striking a guardrail, again. Mr. Cox was ejected from the vehicle.

Mr. Cox was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to the Licking County Coroner’s Office.

The Big Walnut Fire Department, Delaware County EMS and Morrow County EMS, were also on scene.

Mr. Cox was not wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
