No Limits to hold coat drive

No Limits Outreach Center is preparing for the holidays. Each year we draw 50 families for our holiday give a way. In 2014 we served 193 people with gifts and food. Each family will receive food to make a holiday meal. This year we have decided to do a coat drive. We will accept COATS ONLY for any Morrow County resident in need. We will not accept any other items. Please help us help Morrow County residents. Money, food and coat donations are greatly appreciated. Items may be dropped off at 4046 Vine St, Edison, Ohio between 9 am to 3 pm Monday thru Friday. 419-946-5900.

Republican Women to meet Oct. 15

The Morrow County Republican Women will meet Oct. 15 at 7 pm in the Community Service Building, 619 W. Marion Road, Mt. Gilead. This meeting will be a round table discussion for ideas with community projects, membership and our leadership within our County and State. Please come with ideas and fellowship. Big Walnut to hold annual Fire Prevention Open House

Big Walnut Joint Fire District is holding their annual Fire Prevention Open House on Sunday, October 18 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 4600 State Route 229 in Marengo. There will be live demonstrations, food and family fun.

Next TEA Party meeting is Oct. 19

The next regular meeting of the Morrow County TEA Party is Monday, Oct. 19, 7 p.m., at the Mount Gilead Library Annex, 34 E. High Street in the rear. Saturday, Oct. 24, at 9 am. (NOTE the time change) is a casual breakfast get-together at Edison Depot Cafe (Dutch treat), a chance to get to know like-minded people. Study night begins again Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 7 pm., at 5218 TR 115, Mount Gilead, starting a new six–part study “Revealing the truth about Islam.” All activities are open to the public and all are welcome.

Harmony Chapel’s Country Breakfast is Oct. 19

Harmony Chapel UMC will hold its fall Country Breakfast Buffet on Sunday, Oct.19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eggs are featured in casseroles, scrambled, deviled, and made-to-order omelets. Menu also includes breakfast breads, pancakes, biscuits and sausage gravy, meats, fresh fruit, and PIE. The church is located six miles east of Mt. Gilead and one mile south of SR 95 on CR 20. A freewill donation will be collected. An elevator for the handicapped is available.

Library book sale is week of Oct. 20

Join the Mount Gilead Public Library for our fall book sale Oct. 20 – 24, in the book sale section on the second floor.

Fourth Saturday Breakfast is Oct. 24

First Presbyterian Church, 55 N. Cherry St. will host a Fourth Saturday Breakfast on Oct. 24 from 7-10 am. The menu will be pancakes, bacon, sausage, and mixed fruit. The cost is $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children. The proceeds this month will be donated to the United Way of Morrow County.

Chess Club is back

Chess Club is back starting Sept. 15! Join Pete and Rhonda Dettra on Tuesday afternoons for the Mount Gilead Public Library’s Chess Club. The Chess Club begins at 4 p.m. on the third floor. The club is open to all ages and skill levels.

Dance held every Saturday in Marion

A Dance is held each Saturday from 7-11 p.m. at Sawyer Ludwig Park in the Shrine Building at 1313 White Oaks Rd., Marion. Admission is $8 for adults. No dance will be held Aug. 8 and 15 but will resume Aug 22 and 29. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are available. No smoking.
