Community Center “Get Fit, Stay Fit” 5K Run & Walk coming up Oct. 3

The 6th Annual Morrow County Community Center 5K Run & Walk will take place on Sat. Oct. 3rd. Check-in will be at the Mount Gilead Pool with registration beginning at 8 a.m. and race time at 9:30 a.m. Registered runners will receive a Race Tee shirt.

There will be a free one mile walk held during the race and activities for children not participating in the race.

Participants will line up on the Start line by the Cherry St. School by 9:30 a.m.

The race route will be from the starting line down Cherry St. to the ball diamond making a left onto Park Ave. and continuing on to Iberia St. running North. At the halfway point on Iberia road, runners can grab some water before returning and running back to cross the finish line right by the pool on Cherry St.

After all participants come across the finish line there will be a short awards ceremony and drawing of door prizes.

You can get registration forms on line at www.morrowcountycommunitycenter.org or stop by the Community Center at 16 S. Main St. in Mount Gilead. You can also register the day of the race. Registration fee is $15 with proceeds benefiting youth and veteran member scholarships.
