MOUNT GILEAD — Due to a written threat, Mount Gilead middle and high schools were evacuated Tuesday morning.
Officials reported a search was complete and students returned to classes at the high and middle schools.
Park Avenue Elementary School had been placed on lockdown and law enforcement was on the scene. Parents were notified of the situation by the school district.
The district thanked everyone for their cooperation.
Last week schools in Crawford County received similar threats.
