Accident reported

An accident on West High Street was investigated. One driver said the other motorist left the scene. She was contacted.

Burglary

A West High Street resident reported someone broke into her apartment and took several items and destroyed walls and doors. Drug paraphernalia was also seized from the property. The resident denied knowledge of the paraphernalia.

Driving under suspension

A man cited for speeding and driving under suspension in the 400 block of North Main Street.

Motorist cited

A man was cited for driving under suspension on West High Street.

Domestic complaint

A dispute between a man and his ex-girlfriend on Iberia Street resulted in no arrests.

Items stolen

A man reported items taken from his vehicle while it as parked on HPM Street.

Driver arrested

A woman was charged with OVI, driving under OVI suspension and a turn signal violation on Lincoln Avenue.

Gun incident

Officers assisted sheriff’s deputies with an armed man reportedly threatening another person. He was taken into custody and the firearm recovered without incident.

Motorist cited

A man was cited for driving under suspension on West High Street.

Juveniles warned

A report on a group of juveniles sitting in the roadway and not moving out of the way of vehicles on South Rich Street. Multiple complaints have been received. They were warned that citations will be issued on any further incidents.

Assault reported

A resident reported having a verbal argument with another man after his son was assaulted by the other man’s son on West High Street. Threat of using a firearm was made. A report will be sent to the prosecutor’s office to review charges.

Domestic violence

A domestic dispute on North Main Street resulted in a man arrested for domestic violence.

Beer stolen

A man reportedly took several cans of beer and stuffed them in his pants and left without paying for them at the Duke & Duchess. He paid for his gas with a voucher from Job and Family Services.

Drug pipe found

Staff found a drug pipe on the floor at the Duke & Duchess. The instrument was collected and destroyed.
