CARDINGTON — Cardington-Lincoln High School will celebrate it 71st homecoming on Friday, Sept. 29.

The ceremony will be held at 6:30 pm on the Merle Fisher Athletic Field and will be followed by the football game with the Pirates hosting the Northmor Knights.

A dance for high school students will follow the game. It will be held in the cafeteria until midnight. John Brehm will be the DJ. Admission is $3.

Queen candidates, all seniors, are Katelyn Denney, Aleigha Parsons, and Sydney Vaught. King candidates, also all seniors, are Daniel Kill, Tyler Villella and Garrett Wagner.

Court attendants are Maddisin Thompson, junior; Kierson George, sophomore and Isabelle Crum, freshman.

Junior attendants, all first grade students, are Adria Bishop, Bryce Arnold and Annabelle Lackey.

Adria is the daughter of Jeremy and Lacey Bishop; Bryce is the son of David and Brittney Arnold and Annabelle’s parents are Eric and Nachelle Lackey.

Crowning the new homecoming couple will be the 2016 king and queen, Devin Pearl and Jessica Shook.

Queen candidate Denney, 17, is the daughter of Joe and Jodie Denney. She is the FFA secretary and belongs to the Spanish Club, Spirit Club, and FCA and recently traveled to Honduras with the FFA Chapter.

She will be escorted by king candidate Tyler Villella, 18, son of Mario and Christina Villella. He has lettered four years in both football and track.

Parsons, 18, is the daughter of Travis and Mary Jo Parsons. She is a varsity cheerleader and secretary of the Drama Club; belongs to the Spanish and Spirit Clubs and is vice president of her 4-H club.

She will be escorted by king candidate Garrett Wagner, 18, son of Dionne Lawson and Timothy Wagner. He is a two-year football letterman, four-year basketball letterman; and was named first team all-district and second team all conference. He was a four-year letterman in baseball.

Vaught, 17, is the daughter of Stephanie Chandler and Nate Vaught. She is a varsity cheerleader; belongs to the National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Spirit Club and the Yearbook staff. She has earned a varsity and academic letter.

She will be escorted by king candidate Daniel Kill, 17, son of Eric and Donna Kill. He has played football and baseball four years and basketball, three years. He earned special mention All-Ohio in football in 2016 and has been team captain two years. He was named first team Central District in baseball in 2016 and is the FFA vice president.

Thompson, 16, is the daughter of Michele Curry and Brian Thompson. This is her first year as a Cardington student. She plays basketball, softball and belongs to the Drama Club. She will be escorted by Gavin Plowman, son of Roger and Jen Plowman.

George, 15, is the daughter of Cecil and Jessica George. She plays softball, belongs to the FFA Chapter and earned an academic certificate and varsity letter in softball. She won MOAC all-conference honorable mention in softball and is a scholar-athlete. Active with the Livestock Unlimited 4-Club she also belongs to Beverly Bandits softball.

She will be escorted by Nick McAvoy, son of Wade and Susan McAvoy.

Crum 15, is the daughter of Matt and Amie Crum. She is a cheerleader, runs track, belongs to FFA, FCCLA and student council. Her goat was named grand champion reserve during the recent fair.

She will be escorted by Garrett Thompson, son of Brian Thompson and Michele Curry.

Homecoming activities are sponsored by the Spirit Club, Kirsten Ebert, advisor.
