The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a one-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on Thursday at approximately 8:15 p.m. in Butler Township in Knox County.

The crash occurred on County Road 38 (Woods-Church Road) south of State Route 229.

A 2005 Ford Excursion, driven by Tyler O. Weisgram, 37, of Delaware, Ohio, was northbound on County Road 38. Weisgram drove off the left side of the roadway, struck a ditch, overturned, and struck a fence.

Weisgram was ejected during the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Knox County Coroner.

Weisgram was not wearing his safety belt at the time of the crash. Alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor in the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and Danville Fire and EMS.

The crash remains under investigation by the Mount Gilead Highway Patrol Post.
