The boil advisory for Mount Gilead was lifted Saturday afternoon.

There was a water main break at Union and Walnut streets Thursday morning.

Village officials notified residents by hand-delivered letter of the boil advisory. Residents were notified with another notice when the advisory is lifted.

It affected all residents east of Iberia Street, north of West North Street, north and east of Main Street from North Street to East Marion Street.

Residents were asked to boil water for at least two minutes before using it for drinking, cooking, oral and/or personal hygiene.

The village water department is conducted an investigation and collecting additional samples.
