Volunteers and donations have contributed to visible improvements to the Gazebo in the American Legion Community Park in Cardington.

It began last Fall when a group of local people volunteered to add a lower stage to the Gazebo, place a metal roof on it and then paint the log cabin – a park landmark.

Cold weather brought an interruption to the project but when Spring sprung, the volunteers were back on the job.

During much of the work time, lunch was provided by the Cardington Market. Contributing to the completion of the project was the donation of materials from Lowe’s, Marion and the Cardington Village.

Volunteer helpers included Becky and Pat Drouhard, Michelle Lorimer, Katie Hansen, Jim Clinger, Sean Lorimer, Mike Maceyko, John Nippert, Kevin Mullins, Tom Johnson, Angie Dendinger and Troy Ruehrmund.
