The invitation is out and the public is invited to attend the 44th annual Lutheran Memorial Camp Maple Syrup Festival on Sunday, March 12.

From 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. there will be activities, food and music offered at the camp. All you can eat pancakes covered with fresh maple syrup and maple infused sausage will be served as background music is played by the Avalon Nine.

According to Pat Surbella, the camp’s office manager, some maple syrup will be made at the camp this year but Erlsten Brothers will offer syrup for sale. There will be crafters in the Twin Cherry near the Cedar Lodge with Jack Hudson, the Candy Man and Christy’s Quilts and more.

A Naturalist will show how to identify and tap maple tress and then collect the sap. Visitors can also view the Sugar Bush to see if they can tell the difference between non-maple syrup and “The Real McCoy.”

Maple donuts and sassafras tea can be sampled and maple syrup and fresh baked goods will be offered for purchase.

The pancake and sausage meal is $7 for adults and $5 for youths ages 5-12.

Reservations are not required All proceeds benefit the summer camperships.

The camp is located at 2790 State Route 61 south of Fulton. Rod Pearce is the camp director.
