An assistant wrestling coach at Highland High School was dismissed by the district after deputies at the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office were called to an underage drinking party that took place at his residence last weekend.

“Deputies arrived on the scene after an initial investigation and determined there were juveniles present and there was also suspected alcohol,” Morrow County Sheriff John Hinton told the media.

Law enforcement officials said they found 10 underage suspects, five of which were minors, around alcohol after being called to the home.

The lone person charged in the incident was the 19-year-old son of the former Highland wrestling coach. He contends that his father was not responsible for the party and asleep while it was occuring.

The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
