CARDINGTON — Northmor took the season series with Cardington in girls high school volleyball on Saturday, and with its 25-17, 25-23, 25-16 victory, earned a Division III sectional tournament title and a trip to next week’s district tournament.

On Wednesday, the Knights, who improved to 19-5 on the year, will play the winner of a sectional championship tilt between Utica and Northridge. Kara Wright’s squad will take on that victor at 6 p.m. at Buckeye Valley High School

The two Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference rivals had split their two league matchups this season.

In Saturday’s win, Northmor unleashed and impressive offensive attack, led by Kelsie Fike, who was 30/38 hitting with 12 kills, and Anna Donner, who was 3o/30 hitting with 12 kills. Leslie Brubaker added seven kills.

Jordyn Zoll was 93/97 hitting with 38 assists. She was also the top server, with two aces on an 18/18 performance. Donner and Caitlyn Thebealt were each 13/14 hitting, with three and two aces respectively.

A big key to thwarting Cardington’s attack was Donner with 14 digs, Christiana Boggs and Lindsey Wiseman with 13 apiece, Zoll with 11 and Thebeault and Fike with nine digs apiece.
