Forty Morrow County Democrats packed the new Democrat headquarters Tuesday to
meet candidates and discuss issues. The headquarters office is at 400 West High Street in Mount Gilead.
Candidates gave a brief report on their campaign and gave a brief description of their platform and goals for office.
Candidate for Ohio State School Board Tanyce Addison praised the Morrow County Democrat volunteers for their enthusiasm and hard work this year. Addison taught music 30 years and lives on the family farm in Marion County. She has five children and five grandchildren and as a state school board member would put children first rather than test scores.
Candidate for U.S. Congress 12th District, Ed Albertson noted that the present Congressman is known primarily
for his ability to raise millions of dollars in campaign funds and otherwise has done little for this district for 15 years.
He said we can’t keep sending the same people back, expecting different results.
Candidate for County Commissioner, Mike Porter looks forward to working with the county engineer on projects for county roads and with the development office in creating good jobs for the county. He has been the mayor of Mount Gilead for nine years and a businessman and restaurant owner before that.
The Democrat headquarters will be staffed primarily with local volunteers from noon to 6 p.m. Mon. – Sat. To volunteer for working in the office you can email Ashley Burns at aburns@ohvictory2016 or call Christopher Tudor at 419-566-6714.
