Police investigate attempted armed robbery at Cheng’s, respond to string of vehicles vandalized with butter

July 16- Harassment

A West High Street resident reported to MGPD that a male friend of her’s was harassing her via telephone.

July 16- Assist other unit

Mount Gilead Police assisted the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office with a subject fleeing on foot.

July 15- Threat

A South Delaware Street resident reported that his ex-wife was harassing him while at work.

July 15- Harassment

MGPD was dispatched to North Cherry Street to deal with a a situation in which a woman was being threatened by her ex-boyfriend.

July 15- Neighborhood complaint

Police reported to Westview Drive to deal with two neighbors involved in a verbal altercation.

A Westview Drive resident reported that a neighbor stole items from his vehicle.

July 16- Vandalism

A Park Street residence reported her vehicle had eggs thrown at it, as well as getting keyed.

July 16- Property damage

An officer cited a driver on West High Street for failure to yield when making a left turn, which resulted in damage to a vehicle.

July 17- Domestic complaint

Mount Gilead Police were dispatched to a Union Street residence to deal with an active domestic disturbance. No charges were filed.

A North Main Street resident had fishing poles stolen from his vehicle.

A child was reported as having run away from a Buckeye Lane residence.

A Park Avenue man reported his vehicle had butter smeared on it.

July 19- Threats

An employee called to report an incident in which a man was threatening members of the Morrow County Job and Family Services office.

July 21- Vandalism

A Park Avenue resident called to report the windows at her residence had butter smeared on them.

July 22- Animal complaint

An officer was called to a South Delaware residence to assist a raccoon that had a can stuck on its head.

July 22- Theft

A vehicle was broken into in the parking lot of the North Main Street Chase Bank. The complainant reported an ipad was stolen.

Staff at the Family Dollar on West Marion Road reported a shoplifter was in the store.

July 22- Felony warrant

Officers arrested a man with two outstanding warrants out of Morrow County.

Police arrested a man on South Rich Street with an outstanding warrant out of Mount Gilead Mayor’s Court.

MGPD cited and released a drive on West Rich Street for illegal license plates and no front plate.
