Mount Gilead swimmers in two more meets
Once again, the Mount Gilead swim team competed in two meets. The team was part of a six-team meet on Jan. 17 hosted by Marion Harding. The boys were 3rd and the girls were 5th.
Practice safety while ice fishing
The recent cold snap finally produced enough frigid temperatures to harden the local ponds and lakes giving ice fishermen a long awaited chance to try their luck. However, as the temperatures drop, it is important to remember during those chilly adventures that “No Ice is Safe Ice.” While frozen lakes, ponds, and rivers may be alluring to outdoor explorers, ice is never 100% safe and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources urges outdoor enthusiasts to stay alert.

Highland girls outlast Harding
Not only did timely three-point shooting and stifling defense allow Highland to build a big lead over Marion Harding at home in a MOAC girls’ basketball game Tuesday night, they also saved the Scots after their guests erased a 14-point deficit in the second half.
