”Proud to be an American” was the theme of the Morrow County Republican Party’s 43rd Century Club Appreciation Banquet held Oct. 12 at the Cardinal Center in Marengo. The keynote speaker was Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost.
Sawyer remembered during festival
The eighth annual Sawyer’s Little Orchard Fall Festival took place Oct. 7-8. The festival is put on by John and Samantha Walker in remembrance of their son, Sawyer Walker, who they lost in 2015 when he was 3 years old.
ORTA director speaks to local retired teachers
Dr. Robin Rayfield, director of the Ohio Retirement for Teachers Association, was the speaker when the Morrow County Retired Teachers Association held its quarterly luncheon on Oct. 2 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Mount Gilead.
Successful return of 5th Quarter
Close to 75 Cardington-Lincoln alumni and guests gathered at the American Legion on Park Avenue on Friday, Oct. 13, for the alumni association’s first 5th Quarter fundraiser. Kings Krossing Food Truck served a menu full of hotdogs, hamburgers, pretzel bites, mozzarella sticks, and much more to guests in attendance.

Council approves purchase of body cameras
At the Oct. 2 Mount Gilead Village Council meeting, Police Chief Adam Lakey asked council members to approve a grant to fund body cameras for the Mount Gilead Police Department.

CLHS students to peform ‘Dracula’
The Cardington-Lincoln High School Drama Club Troupe #4813 is set to perform the play “Dracula” Oct. 26-28 in the Patrick J. Drouhard Auditorium. Doors open for guests at 7 p.m., and the curtain will rise at 7:30 p.m.

The Mount Gilead High School Class of 1968 gathered recently for its 55th reunion. Rich Gladden, the chairman of the planning committee, organized a big weekend.
