Manure pit training aims to save lives
On March 20-21, over 150 local first responders and members of the ag community received specialized manure pit safety and rescue training from Crawford, Marion, Morrow, and Richland county farm bureaus. The training was a result of a partnership between Nationwide and the National Education Center for Agricultural Safety (NECAS) to train first responders, farmers, and agricultural professionals to help protect against manure pit accidents and entrapments.

Artapolooza festival set to return

Five to be honored at annual alumni banquet
At this year’s 94th annual Cardington-Lincoln Alumni Association Banquet, four alumni will be inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame as its 22nd class, and one citizen will become an honorary alumnus.

Solar eclipse fast approaching
In less than a week, more than half of Ohio is going to stop whatever it’s doing and spend a few minutes looking into the sky. The April 8 eclipse cuts a line from rural Darke County to the Cleveland suburbs, sweeping Dayton, Lima, Akron and Sandusky into the path of totality.
New fire station gets federal funding
The Big Walnut Joint Fire District (BWJFD) is happy to announce that it has been notified by U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown that it has received $1.32 million in congressional-directed spending to help pay for the new Chesterville fire station. This is 55% of the $2.4 million total cost of the fire station project, meaning the new station will cost residents $1.08 million.
