Canepa to lead Ohio’s cannabis control

On Dec. 14, Department of Commerce Director Sherry Maxfield announced the appointment of James Canepa as the first superintendent of the Division of Cannabis Control. The division is poised to ensure the safety and regulation of both medical and non-medical cannabis, which is now legal for consumers to possess in Ohio.

Selover Library expands hours

Selover Public Library in Chesterville will have new expanded hours beginning Jan. 2. The library will now be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. The library will continue to be closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Large turnout for Toy Bingo

Over 200 Bingo players filled the Cardington American Legion on Thursday, Dec. 7, for the Friends of Cardington’s annual Toy Bingo event. With the help of the American Legion and its Ladies Auxiliary, all aspects of the night were a success with members of the American Legion coordinating the Bingo operations, while the Ladies Auxiliary served food out of the kitchen.
