Helt inducted into National 4-H Hall of Fame
Ohio 4-H is honored to recognize Jim Helt, the newest member of the National 4-H Hall of Fame. Helt was inducted into the 2023 class in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Oct. 9 at the National Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals’ annual conference.
Canepa to lead Ohio’s cannabis control
On Dec. 14, Department of Commerce Director Sherry Maxfield announced the appointment of James Canepa as the first superintendent of the Division of Cannabis Control. The division is poised to ensure the safety and regulation of both medical and non-medical cannabis, which is now legal for consumers to possess in Ohio.

Selover Library expands hours
Selover Public Library in Chesterville will have new expanded hours beginning Jan. 2. The library will now be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. The library will continue to be closed on Sundays and Mondays.
