HOJGA holds annual “Best of the Best” tournament

Nathan Smith of Wynford took top honor in the Chad A. Wheeler Tournament at Lincoln Hills Tuesday.

Winners and runners-up in the Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association tournament series are eligible to compete in the Wheeler Tournament for the “Best of the Best” plaque that will be presented at the Year-End Banquet on July 31. Smith, of the 16-18 division class, played from the blue tees on the nine-hole course, playing it twice and shooting 80 to win the honor.

Brian Snouffer of Bucyrus (16-18) placed second at 83, with Kameron Hall of Harding scoring 85 for third, followed by Austin Schone of Big Walnut (85) and Max McCloy of Pleasant (86), all in the 13-15 group, who played from the white tees. River Valley’s Brock Faulkner (16-18) followed at 87. Griffin McCloy of Pleasant shot 90 and Todd Crowe of Fairbanks shot 91, both playing from the white tees.
