July 9, 2014
The First Annual “Fishing 4 Purpose” Trevor P. Clark Memorial Catfish Tournament and Celebration of Trevor’s Life is slated for July 19, 2014 at the Oakland Park Conservation Club.
The tournament is being held in honor of Trevor who was killed in a hunting accident in Edison last year. The purpose of the event is to raise money for the Annual Fishing 4 Purpose Trevor P. Clark Memorial Scholarship Fund. So far, the fund has awarded four scholarships in the amount of $444.62 to Mt. Gilead seniors. One scholarship was also awarded to a senior at Riverdale High School in Fort Myers, FL where Trevor attended school for a few months. Additionally, with the help of a local business, a scholarship was given to a Mt. Gilead senior to OSU Marion.
Two grand prizes will be awarded: one for total weight and one for biggest catch of the night.
Also featured will be a silent auction, food, concessions, a playground, and a chance to hit a car (donated by Mr. Tailight) with a mallet.
Tournament entry: $20 for age 17 and up, $10 under age 17; 2 pole limit; no license needed; no entry fee for spectators.
