Slick roads cause Saturday accidents

The weekend weather wreaked havoc on Morrow County roadways and kept emergency crews busy.

Two separate rollover accidents occured within a short distance of each other on State Route 314 Saturday evening, March 29, 2014.

Emergency crews responded at approximately 5:15 pm to a report of a 2 car motor vehicle accident with entrapment at the intersection of State Route 314 and Twp. Road 14. When crews arrived, they found two separate accidents unrelated to each other.

The first accident occurred near 4674 State Route 314. A dark green Chrysler Pacifica was traveling southbound on SR 314 when it lost control, veered to the left, striking a ditch and rolling onto its side. The driver and unknown number of occupants were uninjured and waited in a nearby residence for emergency crews to arrive.

The second accident occurred near the intersection of Township Road 14 and State Route 314. A White Dodge Stratus traveling northbound on State Route 314 lost control, veering to the right side of the road striking a deep ditch, and flipped completely over, trapping the occupants. Emergency crews were able to extract three occupants, who were unharned.

Crews from Mount Gilead Fire Department and Morrow County EMS responded. No further information was available Saturday.

Emergency crew members indicated there were 4 other accidents on State Route 314 but were minor. A seven car accident was reported on I-71.
